About me
Hi! My name is Margaret Moore! I am currently apart of the AP Art & Design class at Harpeth Hall. My AP Art and Design portfolio focuses on representing my family’s history and integrating myself as a child into the family memories that happened before my time. In some of my paintings, I actually painted myself as a child into a scene that my mom or grandmother used to spend their time. In other paintings, I am representing my family history in other ways to ultimately connect all the people in my family together. A large part of my portfolio is the significance of Harlinsdale Farm. My great great grandfather, W.W. Harlin, established the farm in 1933 as a place to raise Tennessee Walking Horses. Later, my great grandfather and great grandmother, Tom and Margaret Harlin, took over the farm to run it. Margaret Harlin is who I have received my name from. In all my paintings, I am integrating some aspect of my family whether that be people such as my great grandmother Margaret, my grandmother Luella, my mother Elizabeth, or my sister Mary Waits, or scenes of Mooreland Farms, owned by my other grandmother, Edith Moore. There are many more ways that I have chosen to represent my family history throughout my paintings.
